Look Now
Modern and Contemporary Art
From Private Collections
February 12 – June 17, 2012
Drawn from area private collections, Look Now offers a rare opportunity to view nearly 40 works by 20th- and 21st-century artists who have extended the boundaries of art making. Seldom exhibited in public, these works offer an overview of the art of the last century, and represent a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, video, photography, drawings, and prints. The artists featured range from early 20th-century masters such as Andrew Dasburg and Morton Livingston Schamberg; to midcentury innovators such as Louise Bourgeois, Roy Lichtenstein, Alex Katz, and Andy Warhol; to cutting-edge contemporary artists such as Rachel Harrison, Ryan McGinness, and Bill Viola.

New Jersey Arts Annual: Fine Arts 2012
April 19 – July 22, 2012
New Media, New Forms will be the theme of MAM’s New Jersey Arts Annual: Fine Arts 2012. As the world becomes increasingly digitized, many contemporary artists are incorporating new technologies and forms into their work. We are seeking New Jersey artists producing work that actively and innovatively engages with digital media, in terms of process, form, or content; examples might range from “new media art” including digital animation, video, or sound; to digital photography; to works in more traditional media that draw on digital imagery as a source. The juried show is open to artists currently living or working in New Jersey and who engage with digital media in their work.
Jurors for the exhibition are Curator of Contemporary Art Alexandra Schwartz, of the Montclair Art Museum, and Kelly Baum, Haskell Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Princeton University Art Museum.
